Using `unrank` puts more burden on subclasses that implement `unrank`:
they would also need to take care of slices. Having a separate method for
slices makes it easy to, e.g. provide default implementations for `slice`
in term of `unrank` (or in term of `unrank` and `next` or ...).
Other than this, I have no particular preference yet. Another possibility:
`unrank_range`.
