Yeah, mainly the `colordata` tuple, but I think it's a symptom of some
deeper organization issues.
But maybe I'm just being squeamish because I haven't thought hard enough
about this. I propose one of the following:
* You or Frédéric convince me the interface can be made uniform without
any difficult reorganization (hopefully by doing it :)
* I figure it out for myself, after some hard thinking (probably slowly :(
