 Hi Karl, this ticket does not at all depend on #16466, the code in here is
 just a basic implementation of the Gale-Shapley algorithm. #16466 is for
 #16333, although in fact it's only for a specific optional algorithm in
 #16333 Not to sure what the red branch means?

 This branch (#16331) is self contained (unless we messed up with
 something).

 (Freaky that you got back in touch today as I've just written a blog post
 trying to encourage reviewers for this particular ticket :)).
