Actually, the simplicity of the Weyl algebra requires R to be a field of
characteristic 0. If R is a field of positive characteristic p, then the
Weyl algebra acts on `R[x]/(x^p)`, and the kernel of the action is a
nonzero proper ideal of the Weyl algebra.
