Wow, that is a lot smarter. I don't know if we can do that in pure
Python, though.

I think we can keep that file in but remove it from the manual... I mean,
as I see it (if I recall correctly), it does allow things to be applied
after the fact, which could actually be useful (rather than starting a new
plot from scratch).
chapoton, what do you think about Niles' ideas? I will be happy to check
out the upstream sagenb ticket as well once I know that this solution is
agreeable to both of you.
