Dear Rob,
I'll reply to your point one by one.
1) OK, I should be able to fix those two warnings now, thank you for the
explanation. The third warning has to do with the html favicon I believe,
so nothing with this patch.
2) I am still running SAGE 4.0.2. I wouldn't know how to sensibly rebase
the patch to 4.1.1. I am sure this is far from elegant, but what I'd do
is download the SAGE 4.1.1 source, build from that, and then go through
applying all the changes by hand again, much like it did yesterday to
separate the different kinds of changes. Could you perhaps explain a more
sensible way to do this?
3) Yes, that should be easy to fix. I am surprised I didn't see that
error when testing it myself.
4) OK.
5) Yes, I'll do that today.
6) Yes, that's OK. I talked to him about this at SAGE Days 16 before
making the changes to his code. He did not really care that much about
the choice of the method here, but because the sensible default for
charpoly computations should be division-free computations, we had to make
a choice (and that's the current code in the patch).
