 They must be on different list, from where they will be moved to "normal"
 `already_seen` list if they are re-discovered by smaller distance.

 That's going too far. I don't think that we need to 'fix' that, it
 probably shouldn't even exist. What you want to use in this case is a BFS.
 Or, actually, `Graph.shortest_path_lengths` (whose name is awful).
