Sigh. I can't say that I care enough to discuss the idea. Change the 'if'
if it matters to you.

`function_factory` to a proper member of the module? It can then be
doctested by itself, and it will be loaded only once, at import time.
If you want to do that, then it is probably better to follow Volker's
advice and create an individual gap file. Do that if you like, or keep it
as it is and switch the ticket's status to 'positive_review'. And let us
never mention this ticket again. Ever.
