My attempt to implement the second strategy failed spectacularly with
{{{
TypeError: descriptor 'nth_root' for
'sage.rings.polynomial.polynomial_element.Polynomial' objects doesn't
apply to
'sage.rings.polynomial.multi_polynomial_libsingular.MPolynomial_libsingular'
object
}}}
so I've duplicated the code and adapted the doctests a bit.
I'm not particularly happy with this solution, but I don't see a better
one. Suggestions are very welcome. Back to `needs_review` again...
