I agree that we shouldn't use //clang//'s assembler **just** for NTL --- I
compiled `SnapPy` successfully with `-Wa,-q` on 10.8 against the binary
distro of Sage (which used //gcc//'s assembler) but got segfaults when I
ran it possibly related to stack alignment issues. Going whole hog and
using //clang//'s assembler for all of Sage makes sense, assuming it
actually works ;-).
