 Hi,

 Of course building with sun's CC didn't work.  So while you posted the
 above, I randomly happened to track down exactly the same email and
 implement it.  I use os.environ['CC'].endswith('gcc') instead of contains,
 because the path could be something weird like
 /home/fredgcc/bar/compilers/net/CC.   I'll be posted a part 2 patch in a
 moment, which I hope you'll referee.
