Even parts of the old patch would apply to sage-4.3.1.alpha1.
Anyway. What I did to produce the patch was:
* Build sage-4.3.1.alpha1 on sage.math
* Copy the relevant files to my laptop
* Merge them with my changes
* Put them back to sage.math
* Commit and produce a patch
So, I am really puzzled. Can other people confirm that it fails to apply?
