 Hmm, I don't get this.  I also can't find the files involved - probably
 they were in the temp directory, maybe I had to set a different flag?
 Here is my test log from the R installation, on Macintel 10.5.  Can you
 post your examples?  I have noticed that some other errors seem to be
 system-dependent.
