 Interestingly the lines for {{{compiler_lib_search_path}}} and
 {{{sys_lib_search_path_spec}}} completely lack any reference to the
 {{{amd64}}} library directories.

 At first glance this doesn't seem to be consistent with the value of
 {{{compiler_lib_search_path}}} you found earlier. Very strange... Talks at
 Sage Days 23 are starting in a few minutes, so I'll have to take another
 look at libtool's internals later.
 (And then it'll likely turn out to be a very simple oversight somewhere,
 of course :-) )
