 It was worth a try as that still could have been a hidden Jmol.jar file
 not found error.  This is different than the problem I addressed.  Sorry.
 I would guess it is a problem with the "sphere" command.  Does it work
 with a simple plot3d command?  I've tested the 1.1 version on MacOS and
 Ubuntu and it seems to work for me.

 that Jmol.jar is never opened, so it is not particularly surprising that
