 I agree with David that Mercurial is counter-intuitive -- you have to push
 one at a time since push means "push the last patch imported".

 My complete new spkg and patch install and test on a 32-bit Ubuntu (Intel,
 gcc 4.2.4) went smoothly, with only the 32/64 issues with the new analytic
 rank as Jeroen found.  So I popped the last patch and pushed the
 replacement, and now that works fine.

 Now testing the rebuilding od documentation...
