If the Pari upgrade is stalled over some issues, it might be worth
considering putting the upgrade off for the a release. That would not slow
the Pari upgrade, if the tickets merged had an almost zero probability of
conflicting with the upgrade.
* #9766 is for example a ticket I reviewed, which is an update to an
SPKG.txt file only.
That's an extreme example, but there must be other tickets which have a
very small probability of affecting the Pari upgrade.
That said, I'm glad the 4.5.3.alpha2 has become available, and people are
having time to test that without 4.5.3 being rushed out.
