should simply (for our purposes) be

}}}
or even just

but one has to add the proper dependency, i.e.:

$(CC) $(CCFLAGS) $(INCLUDEFILES) example_programs/example.cc
libLfunction.so -o example_programs/example $(GMP_FLAGS)
}}}
