Sadly this conflicts with the positively-reviewed patch series
#9898/#9753/#9764.
I will handle rebasing it past those. You can sit back and relax. Thanks
for all your sterling efforts on this particularly frustrating job. I have
access to a very fast computer (from Bill Hart's research grant, thanks
Bill) which runs long tests in about 10 minutes :-)
