Patch {{{7931_nth_root.patch}}} applies and builds fine and all doctests
in {{{finite_rings}}} pass (with the dependencies installed); but I'm not
terribly happy about the amount of code duplication that's going on -- the
code added to {{{element_base}}} and {{{integer_mod}}} has about 30 lines
that are virtually identical. Could it not be refactored to avoid this?
