 thus since the Lapack issue is with {{{dgeev}}}, it might be independent
 from the GCC float
 issue. However, since the GCC issue is marked as a regression from 4.4,
 somebody with an older
 version of GCC might try to recompile Lapack with it on the machines where
 one got different
 absolute values.
