the pkgconfig files where the path is used in places other than the
prefix, so doing this trick may not solve everything, but probably would
solve a lot of the issues with pkgconfig files.
I've made this idea #10202. Leif, do you think we can do this at compile
time, or do we have to fix up the pkgconfig file after the spkg is
installed? I'm guessing the latter.
