If possible, I would like to see
* See the resulting HTML of a Sphinx run without LaTeX.
* The log file of running Sphinx without LaTeX.
Would it make sense for {{{make doc-html}}} to first test whether
{{{latex}}} is installed? If there is no {{{latex}}}, give an error and
don't build the documentation.
