In the gentoo ebuild cooked initially by Christopher, we pass CXX,
COMPILE, LINK and LINKGUI to make. So we have a make invocation that looks
like this:

make -j1 CXX=${cxxcompiler) COMPILE="${cxxcompiler) ${CXXFLAGS}" \
LINK="$(cxxcompiler) ${LDFLAGS}" LINKGUI="$(cxxcompiler)
${LDFLAGS}"
}}}
Of course you need to add the target on specific platform. Finally I am
not sure
we need LINKGUI since it is for producing a wxwidget apps and it has its
own target
according to the compilation instructions. That is you need target=wxunx
on unix like systems.
