That is more than enough. Remember there are two timeout values. I think
if you set just SAGE_TIMEOUT to 20000 seconds, but leave SAGE_TIMEOUT_LONG
at the default 1800 seconds, then the long tests will just use 1800
seconds.

I can build Sage and doctest it on a Sun Blade 1000 which has only 2 GB
RAM.

That indeed would screw it up. We should run the 'prereq' script every
time we run 'make' as that will stop some instances of people mess up, but
I think installing individual packages with {{{sage -f foobar}}}, will be
difficult to detect problems like a wrong gcc.

It will take a long time on a blade 1500, so I suggest you start it asap.
