Finally, perhaps we should simply rename the script and just let it do
what we mainly need:
{{{
tee_output_of_commands <string of commands> <logfile>
}}}
(where `<logfile>` might also be `"-a some_file"`)
and let it just do the equivalent of
{{{
set -o pipefail; ( <commands> ) | tee <logfile>
}}}
(where in the script `<commands>` would be `eval "$1"` and `<logfile>`
would be `$2`, '''without''' quotes).
