Comment(by jhpalmieri):

 I tried installing on my mac, and I'm having a different problem. First I
 did `sage -i libogg`, and this seems to have worked. When I run `sage -i
 libtheora` or when I download and install the new spkg listed by whuss, I
 get these errors in the log file:
 {{{
 checking for Vorbis... no
 *** Could not run Vorbis test program, checking why...
 *** The test program failed to compile or link. See the file config.log
 for the
 *** exact error that occured. This usually means Vorbis was incorrectly
 installed
 *** or that you have moved Vorbis since it was installed.
 }}}
 and
 {{{
 *** The sdl-config script installed by SDL could not be found
 *** If SDL was installed in PREFIX, make sure PREFIX/bin is in
 *** your path, or set the SDL_CONFIG environment variable to the
 *** full path to sdl-config.
 configure: WARNING: *** Unable to find SDL -- Not compiling example
 players ***
 }}}
 It doesn't even check whether png is installed.
