Just a question about the changes - I think I understand getting rid of
the files in patch and substituting the .patch files, but I don't see how
makepatchfiles is ever used. Was that just a utility you cooked up to
make all the patches? I don't know whether that belongs in the spkg or
not - I guess it doesn't hurt, but maybe that should be more universal.
Anyway, I'm trying this out soon on W7.
