The crypto fix looks nice. I didn't run the doc tests yet, but "what could
possibly go wrong"?
I think it should be used even if the segfaults could be used in a
different way. That's to say, I will add `if self._parent is not None` to
`__getattr__` and run all tests with ''both'' your new and my to-be-
created patch.
