I agree that in an ideal world it would be better to have another doctest
for this function, but as Rob points out, there was no such doctest before
this ticket anyway. So it seems absurd to hold up all of the other new
functionality added by this ticket, and the two other positively-reviewed
tickets depending on it, for such a reason.
If it matters that much, perhaps we should have a new ticket "improve
doctests for wrapper of Gap function xxx".
