Alexander has just explained the lmul problem to me. It was an oversight
in the original patch, where self._lmul_(right) was calling
right._rmul_(self), which is of course wrong, since the argument to _rmul_
must be an element of the base ring. It should correctly be
self._rmul_(right).
Alexander just told me that he agrees in dropping the (redundant) test in
monomial_quotient.
