Yes, I agree with your Solaris fix. The only issue I found in the SPKG was
a few "*~" files in /patches which I removed in
http://sage.math.washington.edu/home/malb/spkgs/singular-3-1-3-3.p0.spkg
I don't think this should be .p1 (I only removed backup files), so perhaps
you could just replace your p0 with this one?
