Hi all,

I think it's an appropriate to say that we are close to running SAIL
projects again, this time using the new TELS Portal (also known as
"WISE 3.0Portal").

Please help me think about what needs to be put into place before we
have this run. I came up with a few things:
1) SDS - Which SDS are we going to use? We've been using
rails.dev.concord.org/sds for our junit testing purposes. Should we point
to the production? And which version 1.0 or 1.1 are going to use?

2) Data collected from these first SAIL runs - how can we make sure to be
able to persist these data (user data, run data, grading data, student work
data, model logging data) from different versions of the TELS Portal?

3) Local Database - Can we try to use MySQL that David&Rokham tried to set
up? How is that process going?

4) Server - Unless we make an effort to set up another server and host TELS
Portal there, we will be using the TELS Portal that is hosted on encore (at
Toronto): http://encore.oise.utoronto.ca:10020/webapp/index.html

5) Testing - this we will have plenty of...the TELS Researchers will be
testing the portal and the new grading tool on October 9th during their
weekly researcher meeting. We'll also have Trudi&Ken to test.

6) Setting up the run, classroom...This should be similar to WISE 2.0, so
anybody that is familiar with the process should be okay. I'm sure we'll
talk about this more during the tels-tech meeting.

Please comment on any of the above with your thoughts. Obviously, there are
still some uncertainties, but we still have some time before the first run
(I think we're looking at week of October 15th).

Hiroki
