Rico, was your ailment chicken pox? Or did your kids have the same? Anyway, John & Albert are right about Neem. Tulsi leaves are also cooling & the Neem & Tulsi powder is used when patients are on bed too long. Neem leaves are placed around the bed, under the mattress etc. when one gets chickenpox. I did that for my son but he had a very mild attack & the the few boils he had didnt have pus in them & dried up quickly (within 4 days) leaving no scars ...whether that was due to the fact that I put him on a oilfree diet or because of the use of Neem Leaves at initial stage, I am not too sure..or because of the Calamine Lotion also used. Neem is cooling so if one has bath of the water in which neem leaves have been boiled, then all heals well. By the way, the neem leaves can just be passed over the boils on skin, even that helps. I get the Carer to use as bath soap for my son - Lifebuoy with neem & tulsi & since then his skin is ok - due to the heat - outside hot weather & heat of the medication he has to ingest everyday - he used to get lot of boils on back. And on reading Albert's medicinal news - he is right on all counts, have tried everything & it works. He had posted part of an article on the Net once before - a long time ago.....What he calls kantikor is available in most gardens - the English name is Aloe Vera. People drink the slimy stuff which is present in the leaf. I cant bring myself to do that, but I do apply the slimy stuff of this particular plant to my skin, whether for cold sores on lip & rash on skin (due to dry & cold weather), wounds, for pain & inflammation inn bones, muscles etc. after sprains, accidents, for pain of arthiritis & I've used it for my hair too. It works, it is the wonder plant & in our Hotel Spa (thai based) aloe vera products are used for all the treatments. When heated, it does draw out pus & poison from wounds & from insect bites.
