Wowow!

What a lot of medicinal news! & it is all true. I have tried most of the
spices & plants according to my granny's instructions which was a long time
ago, but still remember & use some of them now. She believed in & used all the
various spices & plants.

Neem leaves, aloe vera, ginger juice, jeera & rice etc. etc. all have
medicinal properties... & way back in my 20's when I shouldnt have suffered
from acne but did & had a severe attack, I used chandrikar soap for face &
every morning used to make a paste of gramflour & turmeric mixed with a little
water, applied on the face & washed it off once dried. All the acne
disappeared & no scars remained. So for those of you whose teenage kids suffer
from acne, try this instead of all the ointments & lotions & potions which just
aggravate the problem. Unless of course the acne is so severe that one needs a
course of antibiotics.

I can also vouch for the perpetua flowers & methi seeds powder reducing sugar
in blood since my diabetic friends use the same. Another one is the karela
vegetable, Wash one or two Karelas, scrape off a little of the carbuncles from
the outer part of the vegetable, cut the veg. into small pieces & make a
Karela-shake using a little water in the mixer - not very tasty, but brings
down the sugar very quickly.

& for those of you who want to try & bring down your cholestrol & tryglycerides
levels, eat about 5-6 walnuts a day or just grind them to a powder & mix that
with your breakfast every morning.

It is now better to get down to our "roots" & plants to get well rather than
use all the tablets prescribed for every ailment which have a no. of side
effects leading to our ingesting some more tablets for those other ailments
that crop up. For an itchy throat & cough at night, if one wants to sleep
well, then use the syrup called Prospan which has Ivy leaf extract in it.

& dont forget to do a few yoga exercises especially the deep breathing one
which helps one get rid of the toxins & keeps one healthy & "de-stressed".

Guess one could go on & on but this Net will turn into a "Botanical" Net. Rico
you started this by asking the question & I guess it is Saligao-related as all
these plants & spices are found in the homes or gardens of Saliganvkars. So
hereafter, do contact Albert personally by email & you can be sure he will give
you the right info.

PS: I've just had my lovely cuppa of Green Tea (mint flavour) - good for
health!!!
