Dilip, Whoa!
Why 6 times? Aha! you want us to be a bit ahead of the others who pray 5 times eh?.. especially in this month? Well I can hardly keep my eyes open & mind alert to pray 3 times a day since I am sleep-deprived last one week. ..courtesy of our inconsiderate 5-times-a-day prayerful brethren neighbours - contracting work starts outside our window at around 04.30 hours & ends 01.30 hours - simple calculations ... surviving on 3 hours sleep in 24 hours (not a good sign eh Dr. Dilip since you all advocate at least 6 hours sleep to keep healthy) & of course have to work 8 hours to cover the absence of others or their 6 hour shift only as the poor guys & gals are fasting & oh so tired.. And of course have to put in a few more hours of work around the house & in the kitchen thereafter......feel like a zombie! Of course we are not so unlucky as to have load shedding or power failures....so far..... must be thankful for such small mercies! It is our weekend....whether it is going to be a good sleep-filled one is anybody's guess...work continues on holidays too....after all the building has to come up (hope it comes up quickly else the week will turn into months ) so that the revenue, by way of rent, rolls in...... Have a good day! Annette From: [email protected] To: [email protected] Subject: [SALIGAONET] Re: Power failures, many ... and brief Date: Wed, 9 Sep 2009 17:48:03 +0400 Let us pray. Dear Lord give us power and prevent power cuts. Please correct all the wiring that is crossed, insulated with sticky tape and sparks in the rain. Help us to understand that power can only come through your gracious intercession and that unless we pray 6 times a day we shall be cursed into perpetual darkness. Help us to realise that every time the lights go out it is YOU oh holy one warning us of the coming end of the world. Yes, make every one really scared for through this they will strengthen their faith. Help them understand that electricity is a gift from the heavens and unless they pray it will be withdrawn. But most importantly oh Lord, teach them that they do not need electricity to be happy. They just need you. And please save those people who say things like: "It is only by dispelling the clouds and phantoms of Religion, that we shall discover Truth, Reason and Morality." - Paul-Henri Thiry, Baron d'Holbach. For these are terrible people who make you turn off the lights regularly. Forgive them. If we all say this 6 times there will be no more breakdowns.
