That's correct. when the hood of the air-condition bus pulled the wires down on
ChogM road near the cemetery, they were at neck level to someone driving a 2
wheeler. i happen to reach there at the same time to witness what happened. So
i parked my scoter at the side and went into the center of the road, flagging
all vehicles to slow down and saftely allowing them to cross. After being there
for about an hour, i pulled the granite stones that mark the edge of the road
and put one on each side keeping the wire at road level, thinking i could go
home and get a wire cutter and hammer to cut the wires. when walking towards my
scoter a car going from Panjim to Calangute went by so fast that the wires
lifted while simultaneously a car coming from Calangute proceeding to Panjim
hit the wires. Headlight broke so I turned around but it was too late, the wire
caught me on my ribs, i spun around and lifted off the ground to about 5 feet,
hitting the road with my helmet and elbow and being dragged to about 15 meters.
Although i sustained head injuries - could have been fatal if not for the
helmet.

Jason, I think I still remember your accident. Were'nt you trying to warn
oncoming riders about a fallen electricity wire or something like that? FN--

In 1983 when Chogum road was built, i was one of the first to have met with an
accident there. (a few may remember). fortunately for me i still had my helmet
on and believe it or not it saved my life. My advise to all the youngsters out
there - accidents don't tell and happen, or could even be the fault of someone
else - but if it does, and you have your helmet on, it could save your life.
Life is worth living with a lot of choices. Make one of those choices, to wear
a Helmet.
