Noted all, including your views. I have no "fight" with anyone, just my views based on facts & experiences through the years - experiences with Saliganvkars, Panchayat members, School authorities, the lot. Have a nice evening! Even during the 1960's, we had students from Pilerne, Calangute, Nagoa, Arpora, Salcete (some of whom were boarders).... However, for the two seats, if there is just one Goan then both Goan & non-Goan will be happy....... Instead of fighting Saligao-versus-Calangute, "Goan"-versus-"non-Goan", resident-versus-expat, rich-versus-poor, or whatever, wouldn't it make sense to ensure that good educational institutions be allowed to grow (and all the others get a chance to improve too)... so that there are enough seats for all who need them? This is an unfortunate and unnecessary controversy; no way to treat those who have been going out of their way to build education in our village for the past seven-and-half decades. Instead of fighting over a small cake, we need to ensure that we have a larger cake for all to partake in. The questions that need to be asked: * How can good institutions continue to grow (taking care of space and other constraints) so that we don't have to be fighting among ourselves? * What can *I* do to support their growth? * How can all the other institutions get a boost in standards and quality, so that there are more options to choose from? We want the best for our children. We cannot be complacent about what we have or what we're giving them. This is a competitive world. I think alumni also have a bigger role in supporting the institutions which helped to shape us.
