Well what is the outcome of the meeting held on 29th Ocrtober 2014? - I think there is some issue regarding people in Goa getting Portuguese Nationality.......
Those who have surrendered their Indian Passports & are now Portuguese Nationals get an OCI (Overseas Citizen of India) as opposed to PIO (Person of Indian Origin). As such, OCIs can sell their property & buy property but they dont have the right to vote. Guess it is the indian Govt. that checks on this since dual nationality is not allowed by said Govt. If people are getting away with it, or have got away with it, (selling, buying without said card), then..... ??? Ahem! How many who have become citizens in other countries who have sold their land have followed this rule. Because they are citizens of other countries they owe allegiance to that country and ask as you have pointed out rightly money in that country and so the only way it can be done is hawala, hawala is the same route used by drug dealers, arms traders and terrorist. Do these people realise what the are doing for a few bucks to escape tax. Maybe using RTI in Saligao if even a few houses sold are investigated, other will think twice. Loss of the trees between the market and up beyond the crossroads Widening of the road towards the hill: where will the widening stop? When all trees and walls are removed right through the village and up to the base of the hill? What's the purpose? To make way for dump trucks?
