A write-up in the RENEWAL magazine March 1-15, 2017 reports on the recent first meeting for widows from the village held at the church hall. It says:
"There was a rousing response, thanks to the backing and support of our parish priest, Fr Mateus Rodrigues, who inaugurated the meeting. In all 44 widows attended. Refreshments were served, and over a hot cup of tea and snacks, Teresa Soares and I shared what we had experienced at the Widows' Conference that was held in Vasco. Many began to understand that they were not alone in their suffering and that we are all sisters in Christ. We all realized widowhood is a vocation.
