The ten commandments for widows: 1. Don’t carry guilt. [Your spouses death is not your fault.] 2. You don’t have to do penance in order to atone for anyone. 3. Continue to live a happy, productive life. [Develop your interests and hobbies] 4. Feel free to socialise, travel and meet people. 5. Don’t allow people (or organisations) to exploit your vulnerability. [Applies to money, property, possessions, and your own body]. 6. Live a worthwhile life: Support your family. Support your community. 7. Keep occupied: teaching, cleaning, studying, writing stories, composing music……these are all vocations. 8. Dress exactly how you normally do. There are no restrictions. 9. Look after yourself - eat well and continue to maintain good health. 10. You have one life. Enjoy it!
