Dilip, What context does this come from? To my mind, many people (not just widows) in Goa are still grappling to battle loneliness and alienation, to find the support they need to carry on with life, and sometimes to make ends meet economically too.
This is particularly true with people who have to earn local livelihoods, and do not have the benefits of expat incomes or pensions. I know of your experience as a consultant in emergency medicine and with the NHS Trust, but with due respect the priorities here could be different.
