Please do not be offended if we do not post a lot. We enjoy hearing your rants and Annette getting drawn into the fray. At times, Rico must wonder why he started this list in the first place! Christie is waiting for the next 'big one' on the East coast and many lurkers came out to condole over Alfie's untimely passing. Just today, Patricia (Vaz) came over to my clinic and we were chatting about home, SaligaoNet and Alfie. I posted an Easter message to the list but it bounced back. I hope all the religious members of the list were enthralled by the feat of the risen Lord. Imagine the levitation that would David Blaine to shame ;-) I started a Yahoogroup for friends of Alfie who wanted to chat about his life and it's influence on them without cluttering up the SaligaoNet bandwidth for those who may not have known him. The intention of the group was to also discuss why certain medical conditions need special attention and the benefit of preventive measures. It was also to discuss an appropriate tribute to Alfie's memory that would reflect his values and interests. Being away for so long, it was the least I could do to deal with my own grief. I sent invitations to over a dozen Saligaokars who posted condolences on this list, two of whom joined. I did get some interesting feedback on the futility of such lists and was disappointed with the lack of response. There are currently 8 members on that list but not much activity. Anyone wanting to join, let me know or send a blank message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] There was a message recently that Alfie's brother-in-law wanted to be kept informed of any such efforts. I can add his name directly to the list if necessary. (Fred, please let me know) Keep up the good work you all do in and around Saligao. Although my Dad is no longer in Sonarbatt, he appreciates visitors at his adopted home in Arpora - Vijaya Ashram near St. Joseph's school. Also, I've heard that Allan Saldanha, my ex-classmate and friend is not doing very well with a back ailment. Those who know him and may have the time, please make it a point to visit him and others who you may know are house bound. We gab a lot online but it is those few moments that we share with each other that are most precious. When it is summer in Goa my thoughts reach out to those days when we used to walk to the Calangute beach and play different games like 2s and 3s, dog and the bone etc etc which would end at the music session down the Royal hotel till 8 pm and then walk in the dark. I have written this many times but the thoughts keep on coming. The smell of the freshly prepared bojas o my....
