Oops! how misleading was the subject!

Dont know about fit or non-fit of caps, but I sure was anticipating a joke - Saligao/Saliganvkar(s).

So Albert, are you going to relate a joke on the dug up roads vis-a-vis underground cables - first village to have such etc. etc.? Or do we have to wait for 2012? (next Elections).

& I agree with Albert, guess we should all strive to work for what we want with whoever is on the job now that the elections are over. Get them to make good their promises or whatever??? Hard task ......

Have a good weekend, I'll be starting a new week at my desk from tomorrow.

Dear Saligaonetters
Saligao is a place to search for socrates. Many of these socrates have left saligao to pollute the other parts of the globe. They will one day come to saligao in short pants and t shirts and roam like that for mass, wedding, baptism, etc,I cannot understand their mentality. You will see some of the local socrates and they know nothing about politics, religion, etc etc You will meet them in the banks queing there to witdraw their money not more than five h undred, you will find them in buses crowding and grumbling that the buses are crowed but will never think of owning a car and keeping a driver .They will destroy the peace of the church's administration with their stupid ideas, thoughts they will destroy the best life with their stupid idiology.By virtue of they being in british east africa , states or london or gulf they tend to make you believe that they are the best that they are the o nly ones that have dined with the queen. They will never spend money on celebrations but will take up the maximum from other people when others celebrate yet they have alwayshave some thing to say in negative when they attend somebody's function. It is really a big shame that we the saligaonkars do not know the value of human beings and money. We always have thought that the catholics are superior to the n on catholics and feel very egostic to see non christian communities progressing. We have words to condem them.We the saligaon kars do not know to distinguish the white colour from red. That is the reason our roads are narrow and full of traffic, our children do not have a proper playground .We are divided among ourselves with two clubs but no saligao players. How can these type of people understand sardarji jokes? Sardarjis jokes are told all over the world where ever Indians are present. They themselves do not mind these jokes.I once attended a christian wedding in Bombay where there were at least ten sardarjis and the MC was craking sardaji jokes publicly and the sardars were the first people to open their guts out.Let us be o ptimastic. Now with the new government formed or rather going to be formed let us learn to call the spade a spade. Let us hold hands and try to develop the saligao constituency and give hand to o ur MLA who is a saligaonkar to solve our problems. Let us force him to com plete the underground cables, playground for our youth, health centre, broad roads, and to stop building i nthe fields. What I have written is a general observation of mine and if cap fits you please wear it and if it does not throw it somewhere in the fields.

Hi SaligaoNetters,

A joke is a joke, yes! & it affords us amusement & lightens up our load/life, & laughter is good for us...the Doctors on this Net will assure us that "Laughter is the best medecine". But I noticed that the "fathers" of Saligaonet have not commented yet.... why? because they probably think we should stick to the original procedure - postings on Saligaonet are to comprise of info, news, references to Saligao only. ...at least that is what I was told on joining this Net. Now if any of us have jokes with regard to Saligao, let us hear them but remember that what one might consider a joke may not be accepted by the one (Saliganvkar) who is the butt of the joke - in other words we are back to where we started, hurting sentiments of other Saliganvkars irrespective of caste or creed. For me, I dont have a problem, many jokes have been cracked at my expense (you know those age old ones of skeleton, palmtree etc. etc.) but like Maxwell, I probably have the skin of a rhinocerous. Cant vouch for the others.

Personally I myself see no harm in anyone posting good intelligent jokes on the SN.

Where do we get these intelligent jokes from? I mean all the jokes that I've heard or come across are silly rather than intelligent, they are meant to be silly, bizarre & that is why they are called jokes because they tickle our funny bone or appeal to our sense of humour rather than to our intellect. Now some riddles could be classed under "intelligent" but I doubt they will afford us a laugh.

generally quiet SN with most netters choosing to maintain a total 'listening watch' rather contribute once in a while at least. I am not to be excused either.

Glad you admitted the fact Maxwell ... uh huh! you are a listening watcher, though to be fair you do make an occasional posting. Having said that, I still wonder why our SaligaoNet is silent - once upon a time (this is no fairy tale of Saligao) the net was "agog" with postings...yeh yeh I know one is agog with expectations etc..... - so what happened to all those Netters who used to make the SaligaoNet an interesting one - those from different parts of the globe - Canada to Down Under & all the places inbetween?

Anyway Saligaonet gave us our Goa election results for which I am thankful - mostly due to Rico's postings. thanks Rico! & just for your info both my mum & sister noted that their names were back on the electoral rolls prior to June 2nd (albeit a supplementary) and of course not without argument & use of a few choice words at the Mamlatdar's office, but they were able to cast their votes.. Our neighbours are still not on the rolls, (their names too were struck off the rolls whether accidentally I wouldnt know) hopefully they'll see their names on the rolls during the next elections 2012? So once again thanks to Rico for posting the Donvaddo roll on Saligaonet since I was able to convince Fiona to follow up even though they couldnt vote at the Panchayat Elections.

all our Saligaonetters' intellectual minds

perhaps a tall order! Refert to one of my paras above.

Yes, the "FWD forward" mails are a pain to receive & to delete.

So which is going to be the first joke on Saligao? I'm looking forward to the same

Ta ra
Annette
