It appears that my weekend contribution didn't get through :-( I have to
remember to change the 'from' address in gmail to get the SaligaoNet servers
to recogize me as a legitimate Collo.

No it didnt, Kevin; & yes you should do the needful if you want SaligaoNet to recognise you as Saligaofox. I mean I also had a problem initially with the "To" box & Ashley & Rico kept telling me to "change" by deleting the relevant email address of Saligaonetter & insert saligaonet address. Thought my lapse every time was due to age & memory loss, didnt know you suffered from the same. Welcome!

Anyway, in response to Annette's query on the secular priest and the secular
Humanist...
the former is obligated to give 'something' to God whereas the latter, not.

Aha! was expecting Kevin's explanation - some scientific hifi mumbojumbo...hey hey! Annette knows only the English words secular & priest, combined Secular Priest - so 3 priests not 2.

(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secular_humanism ;-) No matter how light they
make the Rs100 notes, gravity always wins. Every secular Humanist knows
that science rules :-))))

Huh! science rules? gravity wins? check this one out then where gravity doesnt play a role & you know I'm quite light!!! - a sort of riddle-joke - an old one of course. What goes up but never comes down? - my age of course - wish gravity won in this case....

Hope you all had a great weekend. We went to the Siolim social here

Yes I did, but you (or rather the Siolcars) seem to have celebrated the Feast of St. Anthony early - or is it that the social aspect comes earlier than the holy aspect. No high/concelebrated mass etc. etc. ? After all the Feast is on 13th....

one of my middle names!) of Padua.

So we have something in common, Kevin as I'm named after the Saint who is my Patron Saint. He worked his miracle immediately after I was born (or so my mum says) else wouldnt have been on this Saligaonet today.

piqued my interest was that he was known as the 'Wonder Worker' for his
success in converting heretics. Maybe there's still hope.

Cant you see Kevin? Looks like St. Anthony has already started working, otherwise how do you
account for your using the word "hope" -............. gotcha???

=======

I like Kevin's joke - the last part (Goan Hell) is reminiscent of the state of affairs in Goa & also Saligao. Hope Dilip is able to make good on his promises....

"Because electricity supply is so bad that the chair does not work,
someone has stolen all the nails from the bed, and the devil is a
civil servant, so he comes in, signs the register and then goes to
the Cafeteria!

Erratic power supply or no power supply - I think this area has improved a bit, but only a bit; theft - & we are told to catch the culprits & produce them at the Police Station - not too sure if things have changed for the better; & how many times have we been told to "come tomorrow because he/she has gone out & might not come back so soon"

=====

Ooops, did I just break my own rule of not making fun of a community I don't belong to???

Oh you too Kevin? You found out that you are not a Goan (yeh I know you consider yourself Canadian but rootwise you are Goan or are you African?). Did you not meet any of the criteria as detailed in Louis mail?

Louis, - no riposte? you must be really very busy clicking & double clicking!

It is time for me to click on the "SEND" button before all this gets lost in the nether regions of this PC like it did yesterday.

Have a good evening or day & for those Down Under - goodnight!
Ta ra
Annette
