Access denied is simply that you don't have the right to do it.
MAke sure the user doing the checks has enough rights on the remote system.

Subject: [SA-list] PERFMON on XP

I have been trying to read the PERFMON counters on a few workstations
running critical apps. I have not had much success - Access denied. I
noticed MS has bug out for reading PERFMON counters on XP, is there a work
around?
