Dirk,
Here's where my problem lies, The opposing server will automatically
disconnect the user after say 30 seconds, which is the tidy way in which it
disconnects, in the old version this worked fine. With the new disconnect
it disconnects in a way where the application seems to be unable to
automatically disconnect. I believe that I can correct this with a new
protocol that detects the F09 that the server sends when it does a
disconnect. I have since been alerted to other problems with mainframe
connections to the LPSERVE application. I will need to investigate what to
use as the protocol for this.
All other services seem to be okay as Windows has a complex set of
instructions to deal with disconnection of connections.
I personally never experienced problems with servers alive crashing so was
not aware of the problem.
Thank you for the help
Regards
Paul

different disconnect, with the "previous" disconnect the client (SA
machine) kept open connections and could crash after a while...(if you did
a lot of TCP checks with a small interval).

Dirk was there any changes between 4.0.1376 and 4.0.1453 to the TCP
Protocol checks?

The protocol definitions are limited to sending on connect and sending on
disconnect. Don't think that is enough for a full TN3270 emulation.
However sending a proper disconnect should be possible.

Dirk,
Can the TCP protocol handle TN3270 emulation?
