Ya know what would be cool, if SA could
check two SNMP values for a single check and perform a
mathematical operation on them. Good for monitoring disk space, memory
available, that kind of stuff.You could do
bandwidth as well, but that would require storing the previous value,
subtracting the current amount, and using the difference as a percentage of a
whole. I know most people concerned about bandwidth are using MRTG, but
being able to alert during a prolonged period of 100% utilization (or 0% as the
case may be) would be nice.
Also, what about logging based on templates?
Generate the debug log using a template so you could format it as HTML for
inclusion on a website? I'm doing this using the plain text file, but it sure is
ugly when you view it in IE.I looked
all over the place, and couldn't find a way to dynamically change a .txt file to
html (ASP or Java), but I'm sure they do exist...
I had some other ideas, but I can't remember them
now.
