Doing a delete of multiple items is something we will add to v5.
Doing this "chained" is not sure yet. (chained -> top level will also remove
childs).

Subject: [SA-list] Feature Req - Delete multiple Hosts at once

As far as I can see, when it comes to removing host entries there is only 2
options - one-by-one or all at once. Would it be possible to have the
option to delete all selected hosts, ie. multiple hosts at same time?
Another option would be to also when deleting a host, be prompted as to
whether you also want to delete all dependent checks. This latter option
seems obvious when you have a host check (eg. PING check) and a couple of
dependent host checks (NT service, process, disk space, etc.) that are all
related to that same host so there would be no reason to keep the dependent
checks when removing the main check.

One of the reasons for this request, apart from convenience, is that since
upgrading from SA v3.x to v4.x I find that when I delete a host entry the
GUI takes around 1 minute to "come back" and allow me to interact with it.
Maybe this in itself is not normal? This may be tied to the fact that when
I first start SA it takes 2-3 minutes for the GUI to become responsive as
it loads the host file. I only have 174 checks in my host file. The machine
running SA is a HP NetServer LC2000 (Dual PIII/800, 1GB RAM) running Win2K
SP4. SA is 4.1.1594 running as console app.

Aside from what may or may not be an un-related issue, I feel the feature
requests have merit.

Cheers,
Anthony
