Is it an option to run SA as appliacation? I mean for a test to see if that also gives the error? We tested it running as a service and never got the SMTP2POP3 Com error you got.
I did several tests with hostfiles from people with slow responding GUIs and was not able to reproduce this behaviour. Dirk. The last three times this has happened, it has taken 1702, 607, and 728 check cycles before the error begins to occur -- that translates to roughly 153, 62, and 84 hours, respectively. I have tried re-registering the pops50.ocx file while SA is running using "regsvr32.exe c:\winnt\system32\pops50.ocx". This did not work.
